House clearance costs come down mainly to:

Recycling and tipping costs
The single most expensive cost is the recycling costs and/or tipping fees.
A standard-sized van like a Luton van will incur costs for recycle/tip charges of around £200-£330 PLUS VAT on top.
Staff costs
The second most expensive cost is staff wages, with these coming in at around £230 based on 3 staff members including taxes, national insurance, and pension costs.
Vehicle costs
Next is vehicle costs, which include road tax, insurance, maintenance and, of course, petrol costs, which certainly aren’t getting any cheaper.
This will work out to around £80 per day.
Additional costs
With additional costs of licenses, insurances, energy costs, phones, marketing, accountants, and other charges you’ll be looking at another £90 at least.
This works out to around £630 – £730 per day without any profit being made by the house clearers, these are essentially the running costs of the business.
When you compare these costs against 3 or 4 skips, plus having to do all of the work yourself, then it will invariably work out at a far better price on costs alone, without your time even taken into consideration.
