If you have a seriously hoarded house to clear and you’re even thinking about doing it yourself, then besides feeling overwhelmed at where to even start, you’ll probably have some questions too.
We offer a professional hoarder house clearance service that you can learn more about below.
If you’re thinking of doing it yourself here are some things to think about:
- You’re going to need to rent skips – lots of them
- Skips are very expensive
- If you hire a van, your local tip may refuse multiple loads or charge you on a commercial basis
- If you take the contents to the tip it will go to landfill rather than being recycled or donated
- It’s going to be a hard, dirty job
- It’s going to take you a long time to clear the house
- It’s going to be emotionally draining
- It’s going to cost you more in fees and time than hiring a professional company to do it for you
If you hire a professional company like Keke:
- We do all of the hard work for you
- We recycle as much as possible
- We donate as much as possible
- Everything is disposed of in an environmentally responsible (green) way
- You don’t need to be involved in the heavy lifting
- Or the cleaning
- Or the emotional stress
- It’s easier and almost certainly cheaper than hiring skips and vans, rolling up your sleeves and doing it yourself

Our video below (featured on Lad Bible and It’s Gone Viral) shows us clearing a hoarders property:
How Does Our Hoarded Property Clearance Work ?
For hoardIng cleaning services we usually require 48 hours notice to take your hoarded property clearance on (please contact us for the soonest possible availability).
We send a 3 man team to your property, we like to turn up at 9 am this gives our teams the full day to get your property cleared.
We will empty the property from top to bottom, every room, nook and cranny, the loft space, sheds, garages, the lot – we even sweep up when we’ve done!
We can guarantee that you will not recognise the property of a hoarder once we’ve cleared it for you, it will look and feel like a different place.
How Long Will It Take To Clear a Hoarded House?
There is no way to give an exact answer regarding timescales, but to put it into perspective, a 3 man team could usually clear a 3 bedroom hoarded house from top to bottom in 2-3 working days, averaging 3 loads a day.
Of course some hoarders homes might not be so cluttered and may it may take a lot less time than this, to give you an accurate idea we’d need to see the extent of the hoarding.
What Happens to The Hoarded Waste?
We donate what we can to local charities, but to be up front with you we find that hoarders become emotionally attached to the strangest of things – from magazines and newspapers, to empty bottles and packaging, and practically anything else you can think of.
Because of this most waste removed in our hoarding cleaning services can not be donated to charities.
What can’t be donated is taken to pro recycling sites where a large proportion is recycled.
Nothing ever goes straight to landfill.
We do everything we can to make sure that everything we remove finds a new purpose.
